Short: Small commodity to watch for low disk space on volumes Author: bml@ukonline.co.uk (Simon Archer) Uploader: bml ukonline co uk (Simon Archer) Type: disk/moni Architecture: m68k-amigaos Distribution: Freeware LowDiskSpace is a simple and small commodity that you can configure to watch a volume for low space. Configuration is via tooltypes, and is explained below: VOLUME=sys: This can be be any valid AmigaDOS volume in your system. Please make sure to include the colon. If you wish to watch more than 1 partition you can run a new instance of LowDiskSpace per partition. The commodity list in Exchange has been updated to reflect which partition each instance is watching. INFO=xx This is the threshold for the first information on depleting space. The 'xx' should be any valuse in megabytes. So by setting this to '20', the information requester will appear when the disk reaches only 20MB of available space. This is information only, and will tell you you are under this value. WARN=xx This is the last threshold at which you will be warned. A good value for this is 1 or 2, and represents megabytes of free space before the warning requester appears. No fractional values are allowed on either of the above tooltypes, so only values to the nearest MB please. DEBUG This tooltype acts as a switch to turn on certain debug information. It has been needed due to some people reporting incorrect drive sizes been thrown up from LowDiskSpace. A requester will appear initially showing the freebytes on the drive, the INFO level, and the WARN level. If you are experiencing problems, turn on this switch and compare the shown figures with the output from Info in a shell. Running LowDiskSpace couldn't really be easier. Just place it in WBStartup, and it will be run at each system boot, and will tirelessly sit and watch the volume of your choosing. LowDiskSpace comes to you from Creative Software and Simon Archer. 5-May-2001 ******************************************************************* History: V1.0 20-Apr-2001 Initial release. V1.1 5-May-2001 Added the debug tooltype to try and track down incorrect drive sizes. Also recoded the commodity check. It is now possible to run one instance of the program for each partition required. Only one instance per partition tho'.
