Short: SOX, global audio file converter Author: Lance Norskog and Sundry Contributors Uploader: dgc3 midway uchicago edu Type: mus/edit Architecture: m68k-amigaos This is Amiga release 3.3 of SOX, the Sound Exchange. It is strictly an Amiga port of the generic release of SOX r6 patchlevel 11. I have attempted to verify that all operations work properly, as they have in the past, but I cannot be exhaustive on this point. Documentation is a bit outdated, but the included Unix manuals are as up-to-date as anyone's. For those who don't yet know, SOX is intended as a general-purpose sound file converter. It is written in (more or less) standard C, and is not optimized for the Amiga. It is not fast, but it is thorough and something of a standard. SOX handles almost all current audio formats, and includes a number of nifty effects to boot: - 8SVX - AIFF - .voc - Sun/Next (.au) - RIFF-WAVE (.wav) - several weirdo PC formats - anything raw you can imagine - high-, band-, and low-pass filter - reverse - amplify - echo - vibro I'm bored, and will stop writing now. Please address bug reports, etc to dgc3@midway.uchicago.edu. I will evaluate the problem and forward it to the maintenance group if it is not Amiga-specific. Bye now.
