Just in time for Eastern Orthodox Easter (1997) here's Rimsky-Korsakov's
Russian Easter Overture, which uses melodies from the Russian Orthodox
service.

 All instruments are intended to be played on the Proteus 2 unless the track
name begins with "Roland", in which case they are for the JV1080. These
instruments are the Tuba (using the Orchestral ROMcard program) and the
Glockenspiel (using the JV1080's GM program).

   Proteus 2 owners, please note that I've remapped the Trombones program
to 71.

   There are program changes in the Norns track; 36=mp French Horn, 37=ff
horn, and 38=is a horn section, mixing these samples.

   To minimize the number of tracks and channels used, I've done some
track-sharing of programs as follows (even so, 18 channels are needed; you
may succeed in reducing this to 16, but will probably have some polyphony
problems. This sequence represents a compromise between shoehorning everything
into 16 tracks and giving every program its own track:

  Solo Violins track switches to Pizzicato Cellos (program 14) from bars 12-16 and
from bars 502-513 and to Pizzicato Violins (program 16) from bars 237-244 and 630-644.
It shares a channel with Tremolo Violins (program 19)

  The Violins track switches to string harmonics (program 104) from
bars 203-214.

  The Pizzicato Basses track switches to Solo Violin from bars 524-538.

  The Basses track switches to Violins from bars 203-214.
(Remember that the Proteus 2's basses and piccolo programs are transposing:
they sound, respectively, and octave lower and an octave higher than they
are written and appear in the sequencer's score. Transposing instruments
have been transposed to C.
