This is a WIP (Work In Progress) in the sense that I want to do more with
it but haven't had the time or energy yet.
In a way the story started in 1963 when I got a set of dominoes for my
birthday. I don't remember if I or anyone played much with them, but the
box eventually wound up at the bottom of a drawer, finally turning up again
a couple of years back when the last member of the family was getting ready
to leave the family's old home and everything had to find a new place to
clutter up.
I took the old battered box home (and found that one tile was missing...
*sigh*) in the middle of one of my "Imagine-ary" phases where I couldn't
look at something without starting to think about how to model it in
Imagine. <g> A domino tile is just a plain box and not very interesting in
itself, but making all the different ones could be either
1) quite a chore, or
2) a little programming challenge.
I took it as the latter, and after making just one tile and six brushmaps I
wrote a little program that uses the different parts to build a complete
set of tiles.
Okay, I had the complete set. Now I had two choices again: Make a still
picture of a game in progress, or an animation of toppling dominoes. You
already know from the short description what I found most... ah... interes-
ting!
I will probably upload the objects and the program that made them later,
and may even include a more or less detailed description of the more inte-
resting parts of the project. In the meantime, check out my previous up-
loads at
