Short: BeBox style NewIcons for your WB. Author: Chris Covell (sort of). MAILTO: ccovell@direct.ca Uploader: Chris Covell Type: pix/icon Replaces: pix/icon/BeIcons.lha Requires: NewIcons V3 would be good... Architecture: generic This is a growing set of BeBox newicons for your Workbench. I really like the isometric look of the Be OS, and they remind me of those fisher-price little people that I used to play with as a kid. For those of you who don't know what the BeBox is, go to: http://www.be.com or http://www.beeurope.com. The BeBox has been said by some to be the next Amiga, and I'd agree, having had a hands-on experience with one. All I did basically to make these icons was to go to the Be web site, and download a bunch of Be-style icons for the Mac. I snapshotted all the icons and brought over a picture of all the icons. I then added my own little `animations' (because neither the mac nor the BeBox have animated icons like the Amiga does. I've worked hard during the winter, and have made some backdrops, and some more icons. This new archive has even more icons for your System icons, all of your disks, some DefIcons, and several icons for some generic programs. I've provided a GIF which contains all the Be icons, for you to make your own (and upload to Aminet, of course!) Just because I wanted to, I've also included a set of icon brushes which I use as my Workbench NewIcons. To use all these icons, you can either copy the newicons to the desired .info file using the cli or a directory utility; or you can use the brushes which I've supplied, in conjunction with `InjectBrush', supplied with the NewIcons package. I'm sure you can figure out what "*.A", "*.B" mean. There is a quick and dirty script that I wrote that will install some of the system icons onto your Sys: volume. It's far from being intuitive, so if some of your icons are write-protected, the Be icon can't be copied to it. The install script obviously can't install all of the icons in the archive. I mean, I don't know where your CDPlayer is, for one. Explore all of the folders in the archive, both with the Workbench, and with a directory utility; many of the brushes and disk icons can't be accessed just by the Workbench. If people want me to make more of these icons, then all of you should e-mail me and I'll try to think of some more icons to make/animate. I hope you enjoy what I have here.
