Short: Agressive Virus Detector V2.4 Author: eto@icns.nl (Edwin Th. van den Oosterkamp) Uploader: eto icns nl (Edwin Th van den Oosterkamp) Type: util/virus Architecture: m68k-amigaos As the name says: the AVD is NOT a viruskiller but it is a virusdetector. The difference is that a viruskiller searches for a known virus and removes it when one is recognised. This is not the case for the AVD: When the AVD is loaded it checks the system for infections. When infectious code is found the user is alerted. By placing the AVD in the S:User-Startup or the WBStartup drawer, the system is checked every boot. The AVD doesn't contain anything staying resident, so it doesn't interfere with games or other anti-virus tools. Added since last upload ----------------------- - Full Swedish documentation. Thanks must go to Henrik "Puh" Nilsson and Johan "S.Duvan" Alfredsson for their translation. Changes for V2.4: ----------------- - The AVD is shipped with an icon: it also runs from Workbench. - An intuition preference tool to make things more userfriendly. - Patch recognition by M de Reuver's recogpatch.library. - Addition of an installation script. - Removed small bugs and an Enforcer hit (..). Requirements: ------------- - The AVD itself works from OS 1.2 to the latest OS. - The AVD-Gui preference tool needs OS version 2.0 or higher. - MC68000 (and higher). - No harddisks needed: all needed files are in total less 30k. - No more free memory as +/- 15k needed. The AVD is comes with a preference tool. This tool enables the user to disable/enable AVD tests in a userfriendly way. For doing that the tool uses intuition only, so no additional libraries are needed. Edwin Th. van den Oosterkamp
