Have you ever wondered what error-code is causing your SCSI-Unit's LED
to flash, whether you enabled the write-cache mode with the jumpers
on your MO-drive or what truly is the problem when a unit fails to be
mounted?
Then this is the tool for you:
It offers printing of SCSI-inquiry information, as well as reading/writing
of blocks from/to a device. (There is however no TD64 support yet.)
It even works partially with IDE-controllers providing scsi-compatible
devices, such as the scsi.device on the A1200/A4000D.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Usage: SCSIscrutinize <drive> [i][r][w] <from block>-<to> <file>
-----------------------------------------------------------------
- <drive> only will show the mountlist-information for the drive
if no drive exists, a mountlist has to be created for the
SCSI-device specifying the unit-number etc., and has to be
mounted under a drive-name first (this can also be done for
non-trackdisk SCSI-devices like printers,scanners or streamers
- "i" will perform an SCSI-inquiry of the device, attempt to
obtain the defect block list and if possible read block 0
the output may be redirected to a text file by adding " >o.txt"
- "r" will read the specified blocks and store the data in <file>
- "w" will write the <file>-data onto the specified blocks
-----------------------------------------------------------------
example: "SCSIscrutinize DH0 i"
