The long road home.

Over millions of miles of asfalt, some strange shaped object swiftly moves,
millimetres above the ground, to an unknown destination. There is no
possible door, or somthing in that effect, visible on the device. It just
moves, seemingly without any power source, at an incredibly high speed
towards the never closing horizon.
At a certain point, the road is crossed by another road. On each side of
the road are traffic lights emitting a bright green light. As the object
is about a hundred metres away from the lights, the green light changes to
red and as if it was mereley a push on a button, the object decreases
velocity and comes from a dazzling speed to a complete stop in less than
hundred metres.
For a while nothing seems to happen at these crossroads, but then, very
shortly, a streak of light is seen crossing the crossroads.
The light changes to green again and the object speeds away at the same
dazzling speed as before.
The road now elevates slowly to overcome a sort of hill. The horizon is
not visible for a few seconds...
As the object reaches the top, another long road stretches out, way down to
the horizon...
